The Indian Orchard was established in November 1999 as a restaurant and a takeaway.
Dudu Miah opened the new business after a successful 10 years managing the nearby Sunam Tandoori restaurant. His time there saw the Sunam serve such high profile names like Sir Ian Botham and in 1998 the Prime Minister Tony Blair, his wife Cherie and many other Labour delegates.
A year later, Miah opened The Indian Orchard Takeaway on Devonshire Road Blackpool. It was an instant hit with locals, many of whom he had built an excellent relationship with over the past decade. It had an open kitchen and a menu with exciting new dishes.
In 2004, The Indian Orchard aquired the building next door, which it converted in to a fully licensed restaurant. Now customers had the choice of eating in as well as taking out their favourite curries.
The Indian Orchard was the first Indian eatery to score 10/10 in a Blackpool Gazette review. It had established itself as one of the Indian’s on the Fylde Coast.
In 2009 The Indian Orchard undertook a renovation to add that touch of class which it claims to have. However, the quality of the food will never change!
